 Ancient City |
|

The Ancient City, or in Thai Muang
Boran, is known to be the world’s largest outdoor
museum. It is located just outside of Bangkok in
Samut Prakan province, close to the famous Crocodile
Farm. This spacious city features 109 scaled-down
replicas of Thailand’s most famous monuments and
architectural attractions on a land covering some 320
acres. The expanse of the Ancient City is shaped
to replicate the grounds of the Kingdom, with each of
the monuments placed according to their geographic
location in real-life.

 National Museum Bangkok |

The Bangkok National Museum is supposed to
be the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia and is a
great place to learn all about Thailand’s culture,
history, and the traditional significance of Buddhism.
Many of the significant remains of the former capitals
Sukhothai and Ayutthaya are on display
here, along with various other precious treasures
collected through the centuries. The National Museum is
made up by many ancient buildings.

 National Gallery Museum |

The National Gallery, occupying an old and
elegant building from the 1900s, is located on Chao
Fa Road, opposite the National Theatre of Bangkok.
It was established in 1977 and houses an exquisite
collection of traditional and contemporary Thai art from
the 17th Century onwards. The contemporary works are
interesting in the way they demonstrate the impact of
major Western influences such as impressionism and
cubism on Thai art.

The rare stone museum is a one of a kind place
situated in Bangrak, Bangkok. The museum has a rare
collection of stones, crystals and fossils collected
over a period of time by its owner Banyong Lertnimitr.

Thailand as well as Africa and Asia too.

 National Museum of the Royal Barges |

The Royal Barges Museum is located on the
banks of the Bangkok Noi Canal on the Thonburi
side of the
Chao Phraya River, and offers a fascinating insight
into Thai history and culture. It houses eight of
Thailand’s finest and most beautiful barges which are
carved out from huge pieces of teak with magnificent
carved prows.

The Vimanmek Mansion Museum was
established as a royal residence. Built in the early
part of the 20th century, the entire structure is made
of teak wood making it the worlds biggest teak wood
building. Now a museum, it preserves rare artifacts and
gives an insight into true royal Thai heritage preserved
over the years since the days of Rama V.

 Suan Pakkad Palace |

More than a century old, the Suan Pakkad
Palace was a joint property of the Prince and
Princess Chumbhot in 1952. The palace gets its name from
the land it was built on, a cabbage patch, which is ‘Suan
Pakkad’ in Thai. The building itself as well as its
treasures within became a part of the museum after the
death of the prince and the princess. The palace is
supposedly the oldest and the first of the traditional
family house museums in Thailand.

record house that traces and keeps track of the postal
history of Thailand and displays Thai stamps from the
