Central World Plaza is not
only the largest shopping mall and office complex in
Bangkok; it is the largest in the whole of South East

Central
World Plaza has got everything for the visitors and
shoppers. Tourists from all over the world come here to
visit this simply huge shopping mall, probably one of
the biggest in Asia. There are around 500 shops among
which there are high end brands from all around the
world. Famous brands like Lacoste, Puma, Clarkes,
Skechers, Saucony and many more have their stores here.
There are also the flagship shops from the Japanese
owned department stores
Zen and
Isetan which offer fancy and creative Japanese knick
knacks. Another flagship store is the 100,000 square
meters ‘Toys R Us’ which has on offer various kinds of
imported toys and attractive gadgets for kids and

Apart from these famous brands, the Central World
Plaza
houses some awesome restaurants and cafes dishing out
some of the mouth watering cuisines. One among them
which deserves special mention is the exclusive coffee
bar Cafe de Bliss located on the third floor. It is
highly recommended for its food quality and ambiance.
Another fabulous food junction is the Central Food Hall
on the seventh floor. This is a unique place where one
can have food as well as buy vegetables, fruits and
other things, too. There are many other avenues of
entertainment, including cinemas (one of the largest of
its kind), an ice-skating rink and also the Thai Duty
Free shop. The entertainment zone also covers bowling
alleys and fitness centers in the plaza.

History of Central World
Central World was formerly known as the World
Trade Center when it was first opened in 1990. Then,
in 2002, the Central Group acquired the property from
Wang Petchaboon to reconstruct and
renovate, as well as rename the shopping mall to Central
World Plaza. After a long period of renovation with lots
of complications and delays, the Central World Plaza
finally reopened to all visitors and shoppers in May
2007.
The developer of this mall Central Group is the largest
developer of departmental stores in the whole of
Thailand. This gigantic shopping mall not only houses
various lifestyle shops but it also comprises of an
office complex and hotels.
