Bangkok is full of creepy places in which you shouldn't be hanging out in. Sadly, many venues were established to make a quick buck with tourists, offering nothing close to good service and in some cases even rip you off. A General rule applies in which it's stated not to trust a local Thai when he recommends you a place. Of course you need to know the nature of this person. If he randomly comes up to you in decent or in some cases even good English, pointing you to a good massage parlor or club he knows - don't take his word for it! Often this person works on commission and receives payments for bringing in tourists. This rule also applies to Sightseeing events.

Go-Go Bars

Go Go Bars are a great way to enjoy your Beer while watching at naked Girls dance. But remember, as in any Bar where girls are working you need to be a bit cautious.

Patpong and Nana are the places which are known to have a whole bunch of Go-go Bars. While most of them are safe, offering you what was promised, make sure you know the prices in advance.

Sex Shows

Live Ping-Pong, Candle blowing or Banana shows are held at nearly each tourist nightlife venues. Patpong, Nana and Soi Cowboy are famous for that.

A word of caution: Prices are often not transparent and even if they tell you that the price is say 100 Baht for 1 Beer it can change once you had your first drink. Bangkok doesn't seem to have many legitimate places in which these events are offered. Pataya (about 2 hours from Bangkok) on the contrary is the place to go if you want to get the most out of it in terms of price, value and the range of choises.

Bangkok Clubs

The clubbing scences in Thailand are mostly safe and an extremly fun activity to finish the day and meet new people. It is recommended to go to clubs in which locals go as well. This ensures a safe and hassle free night where prices are transparent and the service good.

Pubs

Foreign pubs are usually managed by a Western-Thai relationship aiming in offering the atmosphere and drinks of back home. These are mostly located on the Sukhumvit Road. Other venues such as outdoor Beer places, which in most cases are run by one Beer Brand (Heiniken, Singha or Chang) is another possibility to enjoy an evening. Often, live concerts are held to entertain the crowd. Since each Pub is different, there is no "Top-spot" to recommend as it depends on ones taste.

Kaosarn Road

The Kaosarn Road has much to offer when it comes to Evening & Night Activities. Crowded mostly by Foreigners, this one road features many Pubs, Restaurants, some Clubs and a good Night Market. A must see for any one visiting Thailand. Just remember however, life comes to this road from about 8 pm on so don't go there earlier than that.
