Hello mamsmitch, sorry for the late reply. We have been restructuring our website for the past monthes.

About your question:

If you are a native English speaker or have advaced English skills you could try teaching at one of many international schools located all over Bangkok. The salary for an International school teacher moves between 25,000 - 40,000 Baht per Month. In language institutions, the pay will be around 300 - 400 Baht per hour.

To see a list of internationl schools, check our site on http://www.nextstopbangkok.com/living_here/international_schools/

Hope it helps.

Kind regards

Bu

Thanks for gettting back to me... 40,000 tbt is horrible. I make more than 10 times that. I am married to a thai but cant motivate myself to work for such bad wages. If you figure out what a thai person makes and factor in the percentage of the cost of daily needs.. food electricity etc.... Thailand is horrible expensive. It only pays to be in thailand IF you bring in outside money.

Great place to vacation. Bad bad place to live...

Hello mamsmitch,

it is true that 40,000 THB is not a fortune, but it certainly is enough to get by the monthes if you have a calculated list for your monthly expenses. Depending on your lifestyle, you may need to adjust your budget and be more selective with the items you are dealing with. At first it may be a hassle, but with time you will get used to it.

As you mentioned, Thailand is getting pretty expensive. We have been facing continuous inflations every year and it seems to stay this way. Most foreigners that decide to settle down here deal with this issue by saving up a small fortune years before they arrive.

Jobs that pay over 40,000 THB a month are mostly first-line and middle manager positions. However, a Bachelor's Degree in the corresponding field is needed.

If you have any other questions, feel free to reply Smile

Regards,

Bu

Welcome to our forums, actually.

Most international schools and other language teaching institutes require you to be a native English speaker, or to have some sort of proof that reflect you English abilities (e.g. TOEFL).

Here is a list of international schools in Bangkok:

Not all of the Teachers in the International Universities are native speakers but you would need to have a skill to pass on.

Do you have any certifications?[/url]
